The motto of the college ‘அன்பு அறிவு அறம்’ meaning ‘Love Knowledge Virtue’ is written below the shield. The shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the lotus denotes purity, enlightenment, rebirth, transformation, personal growth, resilience, overcoming obstacles and divine beauty; the swans are are sacred and are symbols of grace and beauty; and the ship on seas refers to Thoothukudi sea port, the place of the college.
