The emblem of Sahakar Maharshee Shankarrao Mohite Patil Institute of Technology & Research (SMSMPITR) features a brown gearwheel inscribed with the name of the college, housing silhouette motif of a graduate with mortarboard hat supported by a pair of laurels. The wheel is supported by an open book and the initials of the managing Trust ‘AKLUJ’. The graduate with hat refers to educational achievement, equality, tradition and rights of passage; the laurels are symbols of ceremonies, victory, achievement, hard work and dedication; the book refers to knowledge, education, learning and wisdom; the gearwheel denotes science, engineering and technology; and the colour signifies the earthiness, simplicity, stability, humility, warmth, reliability, endurance, timelessness and tradition.

In response to this need, the National Bank for Financing Infrastructure and Development Act, 2021 was introduced, as it denotes the return of Development Financial Institutions (DFIs) in the country after a few decades.
