UTTARAKHAND POLICE
Uttarakhand Police came into existance when the state of Uttarakhand was formed on the  November 9, 2000 as the 27th State of India, when it was carved out of northern Uttar Pradesh. The emblem of the Uttarakahnd Police shows the emblem of Uttarakhand in color and in a slightly modified version. The arms show the same emblem in golden lining, placed on a shield per fess of red, light blue and dark blue. These are the colours of the Indian Armed Forces. The motto of the force is ‘Mithratha Seva Suraksha’ meaning ‘Friendship Service Security’.

UTTARANCHAL UNIVERSITY Uttaranchal University has come a long way since its inception in 2013 providing world class multidisciplinary education. The university's mission is to inculcate the essence of the Sanskrit Shloka ‘पदं हि सर्वत्र गुणैर्निधीयते’ meaning ‘Good Qualities Put their Footprints Everywhere’. The logo of the university has a blue and green abstract pictorial of ‘U’ and on its right a wordmark of its name in capitals thin serif letters with smooth transition of strokes. The counter of the ‘U’ is filled blue and a stroke of blue and green flows across diagonally from left to right top. This is further cut out by another ‘U’ at the top right corner. The colour blue represents serenity, calmness, trust, spirituality, calmness, wisdom, freedom, openness, intelligence and loyalty and the colour green denotes life, production, fertility, agriculture, environment and nature. The logo is modern, trendy and attractive.

The weighing scales with the twin balance pans symbolise equity, fairness, objectivity and truth; the mortarboard hat or Oxford hat denotes educational achievement, equality, tradition and rights of passage; the figures holding hands directly atop the scale beam highlights unity, collaboration, teamwork and community integration.

GOVERNMENT DEGREE COLLEGE, KARGIL (GDC KARGIL) The emblem of Government Degree College, Kargil (GDC Kargil) features a grey circle housing an open book, an orange rising sun, the Arabic text ‘من الظلمات إلى النور’, which translates directly to ‘From darkness into light’, a fountain pen and a pencil. The circle is surmounted by the name of the college on the right. The motto of the college ‘From Darkness to Light’ is inscribed on a banner placed below the circle. The fountain pen and pencil represent the instruments of writing, literacy and formal education. The open book is a classic symbol of knowledge, accessible learning and continuous study.
