NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY ARUNACHAL PRADESH
NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY ARUNACHAL PRADESH |
The National Institute of Technology, Arunachal Pradesh (NITAP) was inaugurated on August 18, 2010 as a member of a group of ten new NITs. The emblem of NIT Arunachal Pradesh depicts the value and aim of education and at the same time glorifies the natural beauty of Arunachal Pradesh. In the logo rising sun reminds us of the fact that Arunachal Pradesh is known as ‘land of rising sun’ in India. Rising sun signifies that this institute will produce new emerging talents. Open book symbolises academic betterment of students with the help of books and produce assets for the country. Two figures in the book indicate that the institute will motivate students to rise as high as the sky and come out with flying colours. A pen tip in the sun signifies the importance of education. The two branches of leaves signify the natural beauty of states and focus on the fact that the institute will always try to conserve natural beauty in the present world of modernisation. Hornbill in the logo glorifies the state bird which is an almost extinct species in India, hence glorifying the state's natural beauty and at the same time creates awareness about conservation of rare species. Symbol for atomic power and tells us that the institute's motto will be development in the field of science. The outer shape is given the circular look and is very apt as the world we are living in has circular 2D projection and indirectly tells that institute will glorify its name with time. The continuous projections above the circle remind us of the fact that Arunachal Pradesh is surrounded by mountain ranges, again glorifying its natural beauty and indirectly related with engineering tools. The Sanskrit verse ‘न हि ज्ञानेन सढृशं पवित्रमिह विद्रयते’ means that ‘In this World There is Nothing as Pure as Knowledge’ and this verse is very appropriate as knowledge purity can never be questioned even in this transient world.”
