At the bottom, on a panel the motto of the college in Sanskrit ‘तमसो मा ज्योतिर्गमय’ (Yajnavalkya, 1.3.28, Pavamana Mantra, Brihadaranyaka Upanishad) meaning ‘From Darkness Lead Me to Light’is written. The rose symbolsies divine love, compassion, and purity ; and the laurels are symbols of ceremonies, victory, achievement, hard work and dedication.
