The name of the university is written above the motifs and its motto in Sanskrit ‘सर्वं सम्भाव्यते त्वयि’ (Shlok 7, Chapter 32, Adi Parva, Mahabharata) meaning ‘All Possibilities are within’ is written below. This assemblage is placed within a spiked circular pattern. The flaming torch represents the light of knowledge, enlightenment, and the removal of ignorance; the elephants refer to the State of Jharkhand; the leaves and flowers are representative of the State; the spiked wheel refers to the Steel City of Jamshedpur.

The central motifs of the winged Staff of Caduceus entwined by a pair of serpents crested with a flaming torch, supported by an open book and a pair of laurels replace the Lion Capital; and the name, place and motto of the college replace the name of the State. The motto of the college in Sanskrit is ‘विद्यया विन्दते अमृतम्’ (Mantra 2.4, Kenopanishad), which translates to ‘Immortality Through Knowledge’. The Staff of Caduceus symbolises medicine and medical profession; the book symbolises the accumulation and dissemination of medical knowledge and the academic foundation of the institution; the torch with flame is an emblem of enlightenment, hope, life, truth and the regenerative power; and the laurels are symbols, which represent victory, honour and academic excellence.
