The emblem of Jamshedpur Women’s University (JSR Women’s University) features a flaming torch supported by a pair of elephants and ensconced by a leafy and floral circular border. The name of the university is written above the motifs and its motto in Sanskrit ‘सर्वं सम्भाव्यते त्वयि’ (Shlok 7, Chapter 32, Adi Parva, Mahabharata) meaning ‘All Possibilities are within’ is written below. This assemblage is placed within a spiked circular pattern. The flaming torch represents the light of knowledge, enlightenment, and the removal of ignorance; the elephants refer to the State of Jharkhand; the leaves and flowers are representative of the State; the spiked wheel refers to the Steel City of Jamshedpur.
