The emblem of Vasantrao Naik Marathwada Agricultural University (VNMAU) has a motif of the entrance arch of Ellora Caves in yellow colour with its name written in Devanagari along the arch. Inside the arch in a circle with black outline the motifs a gear wheel; a four petalled flower, a cattle, tractor, crest of cereal and an open and a microscope are placed. These motifs represent agriculture and agricultural engineering. On the base of the arch in between two gear wheels its motto in Sanskrit ‘कृषि मूलं हि जीवनम्’ meaning ‘Agriculture is the Root of Life’ is inscribed.

The green toned circular emblem of the university has a motif of a farmer tilling the soil using cattle and plough placed over an open book signifying the knowledge, wisdom and education of agriculture. Below this its motto in Sanskrit ‘कृषि मूलम् जगत् सर्वम्’ meaning ‘Agriculture is the Root of the World’ is written. CENTRAL WATER COMMISSION The circular seal of the Central Water Commission has a five petalled flower with a water dam, a powerline on sea water, a borewell pump, plants of cereal and a high tension transmission line each placed inside a petal. The flower is placed in an orange circle and this assembly is ensconced by a yellow circular border, on which its name in Devanagari and English and its motto in Sanskrit ‘आपो ज्योति रसोऽमृतम’ meaning ‘May That Awakens Our Intelligence’ are inscribed.
