Below the lamp, its motto in Sanskrit is written. All these are ensconced by a pair of blue circular lines. The traditional lamp symbolises light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity.

MAULANA AZAD NATIONAL URDU UNIVERSITY Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) is a Central University established by an Act of Parliament in 1998. SANT GAHIRA GURU VISHWAVIDYALAYA The circular emblem of Sant Gahira Guru Vishwavidyalaya (SGCG), formerly known a s Sarguja University has a circular border in orange and green and has its name, place and motto inscribed in Devanagari and supported by a pair of tribal ornaments. The motto is written in Sanskrit which is an extract from the Kathopanishad ‘विद्ययाऽमृतमश्नुते’, (Shloka 11, Ishopanishad) meaning ‘Immortality is Gained from Learning’.
