The emblem of Nrupathunga University (NU) has a monogram of its acronym in Kannada placed inside a green, blue and orange circle in white. This is ensconced by a light purple circular border which carries the name of the university in Kannada. This circular seal is surrounded by gold ornamental elements. The motif is placed above a brown slab on which its motto in Kannada ‘ಜ್ಞಾನ ಪ್ರಯೋಗ ಪರಿಣಿತಿ’ meaning ‘Expertise in Knowledge Experimentation’ is inscribed. At the bottom its name is written.
