The insignia of Oriental University (OU) is a blue and yellow shield with a golden outline housing the motifs of a glowing sun life, energy, power, positivity, illumination, light and clarity and five stars along with its name written on top. The shield represents protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the sun represents life, energy, power, positivity, illumination, light and clarity; the stars represent perfect harmony among all things in life, with its points providing insight into how we can strive towards achieving this goal; the colour blue symbolises serenity, calmness, trust, spirituality, calmness, wisdom, freedom, openness, intelligence and loyalty and the colour gold symbolises wealth, prosperity, power, prestige and achievement.
