The emblem of P.K. University (PKU) has a blue gear wheel housing a red circular border bearing the name and place of the university, which holds the motifs a hammer, spanner and a computer. The gear wheel represents interconnectedness, efficiency, precision, progress, advancement, synchronisation, timing, order and structure; the motifs of tools represent the field of engineering and science the university offers to its students; the colour red symbolises passion, power, strength, courage, determination, energy and celebration and the colour blue symbolises serenity, calmness, trust, spirituality, calmness, wisdom, freedom, openness, intelligence and loyalty.

BABA GHULAM SHAH BADSHAH UNIVERSITY Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU) has come into existence by an Act of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly called the Jammu & Kashmir Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University Act No. XVI of 2002 and the same is recognised by the AICTE and UGC, New Delhi, under sections 2F and 12 B.
