The emblem of Pandit S.N. Shukla University (PTSNSU) has a red lotus spread out in flat circular form houses a white border, which ensconces a blue circle with motifs of a traditional lamp, a veena and a book. On the white border, its name and motto in Sanskrit which is an extract from the Kathopanishad ‘विद्ययाऽमृतमश्नुते’, (Shloka 11, Ishopanishad) meaning ‘Immortality is Gained from Learning’ are inscribed.The lotus represents purity, enlightenment, rebirth, transformation, personal growth, resilience, overcoming obstacles and divine beauty; the veena represents art and Goddess Saraswati; the book refers to learning, education, knowledge and wisdom; the lamp represents light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity; the colour red symbolises passion, power, strength, courage, determination, energy and celebration and the colour blue symbolises serenity, calmness, trust, spirituality, calmness, wisdom, freedom, openness, intelligence and loyalty.
