The emblem of Kaviyatri Bahinabai Chaudhari North Maharashtra University (KBC NMU) has a traditional lamp supporting an open book with a backdrop of rising sun.Theses are ensconced by a circular border. A banner surmounting the motifs carries the name of the university in Devanagari. Below the motif, on a banner its motto in Marathi ‘अंतरी पेटवू  ज्ञानज्योत’ meaning ‘Let us Light the Flame of Knowledge’ and the year of inception of university is written below the banner. The lamp symbolises light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity; the book denotes knowledge, learning, education and wisdom and the sun symbolises life, energy, power, positivity, illumination, light and clarity.

NIT Andhra Pradesh was established in the state of Andhra Pradesh recently in the academic year 2015-2016. Its circular emblem has a ‘Poorna Kumbham’ or ‘Kalasha’ which means ‘Full or Complete Vessel’ when the pot is referred to as the Kalasha. The Purna-Kalasha is considered a symbol of abundance and 'Source of Life' in the Vedas. Purna-Kumbha is a Vedic motif, known from the time of Rigveda. It is held above the lotus, which is supported by a book and a pair of laurels of cereal on both the sides.
