The blue colour emblem of PDM University (PDMU) is its name written in lowercase letters with the letter ‘d’ treated as a globe with flame. It symbolises its motto ‘Florentissimae Sub Gloriam Dei’ meaning ‘Flourishing Under the Glory of God’. The globe denotes education, knowledge, influence, timelessness, global unity and interconnectedness; the flame is an emblem of enlightenment, hope, life, truth and the regenerative power and the colour blue symbolises serenity, calmness, trust, spirituality, calmness, wisdom, freedom, openness, intelligence and loyalty.

BABA GHULAM SHAH BADSHAH UNIVERSITY Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU) has come into existence by an Act of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly called the Jammu & Kashmir Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University Act No. XVI of 2002 and the same is recognised by the AICTE and UGC, New Delhi, under sections 2F and 12 B. KENDRIYA VIDYALAYA SANGATHAN The emblem of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) has a rising sun with its golden rays resembling twelve flying birds supported by an open book in the National Tricolour. Below the book its motto in Sanskrit ‘तत् त्वं पूषन् अपावृणु’ (15, Shloka, Isavasyopanishad) meaning ‘O Pushan, that I, Truth’s devotee’ and at the bottom the name of the institution is written in Devanagari. The Bihari or poorbia or purviah soldier thereafter continued to provide the backbone of The Bengal Infantry of the British.
