BENGALURU NORTH UNIVERSITY The Government of Karnataka has notified the establishment of Bengaluru North University by trifurcating the erstwhile Bangalore University through its Gazette Notification on August 13, 2015 and was inaugurated on September 21, 2017. This is a State University located in Kolar in Karnataka. The emblem of the university depicts the importance of the jurisdictional area through its geographical features, scientific development and the rhythm of people’s lives. The circular emblem has three concentric circles, which represent the conscious, subconscious and dreams. CAREER POINT UNIVERSITY, KOTA Career Point University, Kota (CPUR) located in Kota Rajasthan was established in 2012 by Rajasthan State legislature through Career Point University Act. This university is established by the Career Point Group (CPG), which has been in the field of education since 1993. William Carey, whose name this university is named after, was an English missionary who is known as ‘Father of Modern Mission’ work in India. The emblem of the university has an open book supporting a gear and a flower with three petals in green, red and blue. The name of the university surmounts these motifs as an arc. UNIVERSITY OF CALICUT  University of Calicut (UoC), the largest University in Kerala in terms of the expanse, affiliated colleges and the number of degrees awarded was established in the year 1968. It is the second university to be started in Kerala. ‘Nirmaya Karmana Sree’ being the motto ,which denotes ‘Prosperity will be Generated Through Pure Actions’. It is governed by Calicut University Act 1975, passed by the Legislative Assembly of Kerala. The seal of the university has a lighthouse with a weathercock showing directions and its motto in Sanskrit ‘निर्मय कर्माणा श्रीः’ is written on it are ensconced by a circular border which carries its name in English and its motto in Malayalam ‘നിർമ്മായ  കർമ്മണാ ശ്രീ:’. CEPT became a University by the Gujarat State Legislature Act of 2005 with effect from April 12, 2005. The University comprises faculties of architecture, planning, technology, design and management. MARTIN LUTHER CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY Martin Luther Christian University (MLCU) is a private university in Shillong, Meghalaya. The university is named after Martin Luther (1483–1546), the father of reformation. MLCU was established in July 2005; it claims to be the first Christian university in India after more than two centuries of Christian education in the country that does not focus on theological training. UNIVERSITY OF JAMMU The University of Jammu (UoJ) came into existence in 1969 through the Kashmir and Jammu Universities Act 1969 following bifurcation of the erstwhile University of Jammu and Kashmir. The circular emblem of the university has an open book supporting a lotus with a background of mountains and surmounted by atomic structure. These are ensconced by a yellow circular border which carries its motto in Sanskrit ‘तमसो मा ज्योतिर्गमय’ (Yajnavalkya,1.3.28, Pavamana Mantra, Brihadaranyaka Upanishad) meaning ‘From Darkness Lead me to Light’ on one side and its name in Kashmiri on the other side. UNIVERSITY OF KASHMIR The University of Jammu and Kashmir was founded in 1948. In the year 1969 it was bifurcated into University of Kashmir (UoK) at Srinagar and University of Jammu at Jammu. The UoK is situated at Hazratbal in Srinagar. CMJ UNIVERSITY The CMJ Group headed by Mr. C.M. Jha decided to set up one of the first private universities in Meghalaya. The CMJ University (CMJU) came into being in 2009 by an Act of Meghalaya State Legislature under the CMJ University Act 4 of 2009. The university is situated on a 40 acre campus on a hillock in Jorabat on picturesque hills. The emblem of the university is green colour shield on which an interesting symmetrical designs have been drawn and on the top ‘AIM’ is written and in the middle ‘ऐं’ is written. UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY, MEGHALAYA The University of Science and Technology Meghalaya (USTM) is the first State Private University of its kind in North East India. The university is founded by the Education Research and Development Foundation (ERDF) which was founded by Mr. Mahbubul Hoque in 2005 at Guwahati, Assam. The emblem of the university has a circle divided into two halves by a representation of molecule on a yellow background and blue gear wheel holding its acronym in its counters. These are ensconced in a red circle. The circle is circumscribed by its name and place. The molecular motif denotes science and the gear wheel denotes engineering and technology.

NORTH EAST ADVENTIST UNIVERSITY The North East Adventist University (NEAU) was established by METAS on a 90 acre land of Jowai of Meghalaya, in 2019 under the Meghalaya Act No.4, No. LL(B).23/2015/280. Pr. O.W. Lange, an American Missionary, established the Assam Training School in 1941 at the present location. In 1972, the name was changed to Adventist Training School (ATS). It was upgraded to a higher secondary school in 1997. The insignia of the university is a grey and blue shield with an open book, a tiara, a torch and a motif of three people. The shield is supported by a pair of laurels and surmounted by its motto ‘Education for Eternity’. MAHATMA GANDHI UNIVERSITY Mahatma Gandhi University (MGU) was established through Meghalaya State legislative Act, 2010 (Meghalaya Act No.6 of 2011) and published in the Gazette of Meghalaya. The emblem of the university has a portrait of Mahatma Gandhi and its acronym written in black on an orange band. BENGALURU CITY UNIVERSITY Bangalore Central University (BCU), one of the offspring of the trifurcation of Bangalore University, was formed in 2017 is a state university which is located in Bengaluru. Earlier it was known as Bengaluru Central University and renamed in 2020. The insignia of the university has the clock tower of the British era Central College, which now houses the university supported by a traditional rangoli and yantra in reddish brown colour. At its left its name is written in Kannada and at its right in English. ASIAN INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY Asian International University (AIU) is established under the Act 05 of 2021 made and promulgated on February 20, 2021 by the Governor of Manipur. The blue and orange emblem of the university has mountains with sun placed in a glowing circle held by a pair of hands. These are ensconced by an orange circle. The encircling white border has its name and place written on it. The outer edges of the border have orange and blue decorative lines. The mountain with glowing sun symbolises the State of Manipur and the hands are symbolically holding the Manipur. The traditional lamps placed between the name and place represent light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity. 

ISLAMIC UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY

ISLAMIC UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY The Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST), Awantipora has been established through an Act No. XVIII of 2005 dated November 7, 2005 passed by Jammu and Kashmir State Legislature and notified by the State Government, through Jammu and Kashmir Government Gazette of November 11, 2005. The emblem in blue colour has a calligraphic image in the centre, surmounted by its motto in English ‘Oh Lord! Advance Me In Knowledge’ and supported by its Arabic version within a circular border on which the name of the university is inscribed. The motto is a verse from the Quran, Surah Taha, verse 114, which reads: “And say: My Lord! Increase me in knowledge". This verse reflects the Islamic value of seeking knowledge and wisdom as a way of worshipping God and serving humanity. At the bottom, on a banner its acronym and its year of establishment is written.

MANIPUR INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY The Manipur International University (MIU) was established through the Manipur International University Ordinance, 2018 (Manipur Ordinance No.1 of 2018) as a State Private University. The circular emblem of the university has a number of motifs. The Dharma Chakra of the national flag crested by a snake surmounted by a crescent and a pair of laurels and on either side by elephants. Below the chakra on two banners the name of the university is written in Meiteilon and English. The ‘Chakra Manipura’ emblem of Manipur tops all the motifs and on its sides the motto of the university in Sanskrit ‘ज्ञानम् अनन्तम्’ (Slokh 1, Sri Govindashtakam) meaning ‘Knowledge is Infinite’ is inscribed. The emblem has a decorative border. The elephants, Snake with crescent and Chakra Manipura are the traditional symbols of Manipur and its royals.

SANGAI INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY Sangai International University (SIU), Manipur has been established in Manipur by Sangai International University Manipur Act, 2014 of State Legislature under self finance mode. The emblem of the university has its monogram of its acronym depicted as flame in gold and supported by an open book on a blue circular background and red and white wavy outline. The name of the university surmounts the circle. Its motto ‘Committed to Excellence’ is written on a blue banner placed below the circle. DHANAMANJURI UNIVERSITY

DHANAMANJURI UNIVERSITY Dhanamanjuri University is a State university located in Imphal, Manipur was established through The Dhanamanjuri University Act, 2017 on April 6, 2018. Maharani Dhanamanjuri gifted the Dhanamanjuri College and in recognition of her contribution to the development of higher education, the university is named after Maharani Dhanamanjuri, the wife of Maharaj Churachand Singh. The emblem of the university has a motif of the human flying with wings and also with the appearance of an open book. The flying human denotes the stakeholders and the students who upon learning feel liberated and fly as free birds and the open book symbolises education, knowledge and wisdom. Below the motif, the name of the university is written in two lines supported by dividing lines.

KHONGNANGTHABA UNIVERSITY

KHONGNANGTHABA UNIVERSITY The Khongnangthaba University (KU) was established with the approval of the Government of Manipur under the provision of Manipur Private University Act No. 6 of 2021 through Gazette File No. 2/3/2021/Leg./L dated February 23, 2021. The seal of the university in yellow, green and blue colours has a tree with five leaves in balance, with leaves representing earth, fire, water, wind and metal supported by an open book denoting education, knowledge and wisdom and a pen symbolising freedom, intelligence, creativity, professionalism, determination and diligence. All these elements are ensconced in a green circular border with its name inscribed. The name of the university written in Manipuri surmounts the seal. At the bottom, on a blue banner, its motto 'Learning, Research & Knowledge' and its year of establishment are inscribed.

MANIPUR TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY

MANIPUR TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY The Manipur Technical University (MTU) is the first technical university of the State established on April 23, 2016. The circular emblem of the university has an orange eight toothed gear wheel bearing the university’s name in Meiteilon ensconcing the motifs of a pair of gear wheels, a student with mortarboard hat and a rising sun in the background of Kanglasha - Nongsaba, i.e. half lion and half dragon. MANIPUR UNIVERSITY OF CULTURE

MANIPUR UNIVERSITY OF CULTURE The Manipur University of Culture (MUC) was established in 2015 by the Government of Manipur through the Manipur University of Culture Bill, 2015. The university started its academic sessions from September 20, 2016. Currently it offers graduate courses in  dance, music, sankirtana, Umang Lai Haraoba, Thang-Ta, theatre, tribal studies and visual arts and it has plans to offer postgraduate and doctoral programmes in the coming years. The university’s emblem has eight intersecting leaf-like ovals forming the base for a circular seal carrying its name and motif.

BAREILLY INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY

BAREILLY INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY Bareilly International University (BIU), Bareilly is established in accordance with UGC Act 1956 by the Uttar Pradesh Government. For various courses academic sessions started from the 2016-17 session. The emblem of the university in the tones of dark greenish blue has a motif of joyful human with a mortarboard hat; this is ensconced by a motif of atomic structure and overwritten by its acronym. The name of the university circumscribes the motifs. Below these. On a banner placed below the motifs, its motto in Sanskrit ‘विद्याफलम् परोपकाराय’ meaning ‘Fruit of Knowledge is Philanthropy’ is inscribed. UNIVERSITY OF CALCUTTA  The Court of Directors of the East India Company sent a despatch in July, 1854 to the Governor-General of India in Council, suggesting the establishment of the Universities of Calcutta, Madras and Bombay. The University of Calcutta was founded on January 24, 1857. The University adopted in the first instance, the pattern of the University of London. The seal of the university has changed seven times till date and the current seal is a modified version of its previous version. The seal of the university is circular and houses the motifs of a eight petalled lotus circumscribed by a glowing sun ensconced in a circle. These are held by a circular border on which its name and its motto ‘Advancement of Learning’ are inscribed.
