MANIPUR TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY

The Manipur Technical University (MTU) is the first technical university of the State established on April 23, 2016. The circular emblem of the university has an orange eight toothed gear wheel bearing the university’s name in Meiteilon ensconcing the motifs of a pair of gear wheels, a student with mortarboard hat and a rising sun in the background of Kanglasha - Nongsaba, i.e. half lion and half dragon. The Kanglasha is the State symbol of Manipur; the gear wheels represent  interconnectedness; efficiency, precision progress, advancement, synchronisation, timing, order and structure; the person with the mortarboard hat symbolise educational achievement, equality, tradition and rights of passage; the rising sun denotes life, energy, power, positivity, illumination, light and clarity; the colour blue means serenity, calmness, trust, spirituality, calmness, wisdom, freedom, openness, intelligence and loyalty and the colour orange denotes energy, vitality, creativity, inspiration, joy and happiness.
