SANGAI INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY

Sangai International University (SIU), Manipur has been established in Manipur by Sangai International University Manipur Act, 2014 of State Legislature under self finance mode. The emblem of the university has its monogram of its acronym depicted as flame in gold and supported by an open book on a blue circular background and red and white wavy outline. The name of the university surmounts the circle. Its motto ‘Committed to Excellence’ is written on a blue banner placed below the circle. The open book symbolises knowledge, education and wisdom; the flame denotes enlightenment, hope, life, truth and the regenerative power colour blue symbolises serenity, calmness, trust, spirituality, calmness, wisdom, freedom, openness, intelligence and loyalty and the colour gold symbolises wealth, prosperity, power, prestige and achievement.

As the institution is named after Mata Vaishno Devi, the color palette and tripartite flow are reminiscent of traditional spiritual symbolism associated with the region. It evokes the three distinct holy expressions or forms (often visually tied to white, yellowish-red and black hues) that represent different aspects of wisdom, prosperity and power.
