UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY, MEGHALAYA

The University of Science and Technology Meghalaya (USTM) is the first State Private University of its kind in North East India. The university is founded by the Education Research and Development Foundation (ERDF) which was founded by Mr. Mahbubul Hoque in 2005 at Guwahati, Assam. The emblem of the university has a circle divided into two halves by a representation of molecule on a yellow background and blue gear wheel holding its acronym in its counters. These are ensconced in a red circle. The circle is circumscribed by its name and place. The molecular motif denotes science and the gear wheel denotes engineering and technology.

RAJENDRA INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES (RIMS) The emblem of Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) is directly adapted from the State Emblem of the State of Jharkhand. The central motifs of the winged Staff of Caduceus entwined by a pair of serpents crested with a flaming torch, supported by an open book and a pair of laurels replace the Lion Capital; and the name, place and motto of the college replace the name of the State. The motto of the college in Sanskrit is ‘विद्यया विन्दते अमृतम्’ (Mantra 2.4, Kenopanishad), which translates to ‘Immortality Through Knowledge’. The Staff of Caduceus symbolises medicine and medical profession; the book symbolises the accumulation and dissemination of medical knowledge and the academic foundation of the institution; the torch with flame is an emblem of enlightenment, hope, life, truth and the regenerative power; and the laurels are symbols, which represent victory, honour and academic excellence.

Below the seal, on a blue banner, the year of establishment of the college is written. The scales are the scales of justice representing fairness, balance and impartiality in the legal process; the laurels are a traditional symbol of victory, honour and academic achievement; the stars or hexagrams symbolise excellence, professionalism and guidance; the colour red symbolises energy, strength and authority; the green represents growth, stability and prosperity; and blue represents trust, intelligence and loyalty.

INSTITUTE OF MANAGEMENT STUDIES, RANCHI (IMSRU) The emblem of Institute of Management Studies, Ranchi (IMSRU) features a gearwheel housing the motif of an open book inscribed with the images of the Subarnarekha River, which flows through Ranchi, which flows through Ranchi, a factory, a fisted hand and a forest landscape ensconced by a circular border inscribed with the name and motto of the college in Devanagari and a pair of laurels. MEDINIRAI MEDICAL COLLEGE AND HOSPITAL, PALAMU (MMCH PALAMU) The emblem of Medinirai Medical College and Hospital, Palamu (MMCH Palamu) features the Staff of Caduceus with a pair of wings and entwined by a pair of serpents and ensconced by a blue circular border inscribed with the name of the college and its place in Devanagari and English. The Palamu Fort and an open book form the background.
