The CMJ Group headed by Mr. C.M. Jha decided to set up one of the first private universities in Meghalaya. The CMJ University (CMJU) came into being in 2009 by an Act of Meghalaya State Legislature under the CMJ University Act 4 of 2009. The university is situated on a 40 acre campus on a hillock in Jorabat on picturesque hills. The emblem of the university is green colour shield on which an interesting symmetrical designs have been drawn and on the top ‘AIM’ is written and in the middle ‘ऐं’ is written. The shield symbolises protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the ‘AIM’ and ‘ऐं, denotes ambition, motto and target; the colour green denotes agriculture, nature, growth, balance, harmony, environment, prosperity, vitality, prestige, wealth and being very down to earth.

SIDDAGANGA INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY (SIT) The emblem of Siddaganga Institute of Technology (SIT) features a raging bull with a backdrop of range of mountains placed on a shield, surmounted by its motto in Kannada ‘ಕಾಯಕವೇ ಕೈಲಾಸ’ and supported by ‘Work is Worship’. This assemblage is placed inside a circular gearwheel inscribed with the name of the Institute. On a banner, below the seal, the place of the college is written and below the banner, the initials of the college ‘SSES’ is written. In Veerashaiva philosophy, the raging bull, often represented by Nandi, symbolises unwavering devotion, strength, and loyalty to Lord Shiva. JAWAHARLAL NEHRU TECHNOLOGICAL UNIVERSITY, KAKINADA Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Kakinada (JNTUK) was established in the year 2008 vide Act No. 30 of 2008 by the State of Andhra Pradesh. The university started as College of Engineering Visakhapatnam founded by the Government of the composite Madras State in 1946. The college became a constituent of JNTU, Hyderabad in 1972. Consequent to the trifurcation of the JNTU, Hyderabad, it was notified as JNTUK Kakinada by the Act of legislature in 2008. The emblem of the university has a red rose with a pair of leaves ensconced by a gear wheel. These are circumscribed by a border on which the name and palace of the university is inscribed. INDIAN GRAPE PROCESSING BOARD Keeping the above in mind and to co-ordinate the efforts for promotion and development of the wine industry in India in close association with industry, producers and other stakeholders, the Union Cabinet in its meeting held on January 2, 2009 gave its approval for the establishment of the Indian Grape Processing Board (IGPB) under the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, registered as a society under the Societies Registration Act, 1860. The Board has its headquarters in Pune, Maharashtra that is close to the principal grape growing and processing areas in the country. Its logo has a wine glass with a bunch of grapes and vine leaf in white in a light green circle, which is surrounded by its name in black sans serif text.
