Maharashtra Institute of Technology University of Meghalaya (MITUM) or MIT University, Shillong was established under the Meghalaya Act No. 3 of 2011, legislated by the Meghalaya Assembly and approved by Section 2(f) of UGC Act. The emblem of the university is a wordmark created using orange and black, in which ‘mit’ is written in lowercase sans serif font in black with the dot on the ‘i’ in orange. Below this ‘ University’ is written in orange and ‘Shillong’ is written in black. The colour orange symbolises energy, vitality, creativity, inspiration, joy and happiness and the colour black denotes mystery, power, elegance and sophistication.

SAMBALPUR UNIVERSITY The Sambalpur University Act was passed by the Odisha Legislature on December 10, 1966 and the University started functioning from January 1, 1967. The university was inaugurated on January 4, 1967. In 1973 the University was shifted to the present campus named Jyoti Vihar at Burla. The emblem of the university has the motifs of gear wheels, chimney and electric transmission tower representing industry; plough representing agriculture; deer representing the local wildlife; an open book denoting knowledge and wisdom; a torch symbolising light, truth and power; the Wheel of Konark symbolising Odisha’s culture and history and river symbolising Mahanadi. All these are ensconced by a circular border and along the border the name of the university is written. The motto of the university in Sanskrit ‘विद्यया विन्दतेऽमृतम्’ (Verse 4 II, Kena Upanishad) meaning ‘By Self-knowledge Immortality is Attained’ is written at the bottom of the emblem.

GURUKULA INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY, BHUBANESWAR (GIT BBSR) The emblem of Gurukula Institute of Technology, Bhubaneswar (GIT BBSR) features a brown banner with a pictorial of a shield and its name. The shield is inscribed with the motifs of an electronics circuit, a vernier caliper, a gearwheel, a computer and a Swastika and the name of the college. This Secretariat provides Secretarial assistance to the Cabinet and its Committees and also assists in decision-making in Government by ensuring inter-ministerial coordination, ironing out differences amongst Ministries and Departments and evolving consensus through the instrumentality of the standing or adhoc Committees of Secretaries.
