BENGALURU DR. B. R. AMBEDKAR SCHOOL OF ECONOMICS UNIVERSITY

Bengaluru Dr. B R Ambedkar School of Economics University (BASE) was formed to fulfil the need of an eminent institution in the field of economics. The Government of Karnataka constituted a committee headed by S. V. Ranganath on whose recommendation, the establishment of the School of Economics was approved. It became a Unitary University under The Government of Karnataka in the field of Economics and Social Sciences vide notification no. ED 41 UBV 2018(P-2) dated October 30, 2019. The emblem of the university has a golden shield on a blue background carrying the motifs of gandaberunda, which is taken from the Government of Karnataka insignia and the endless mystical knot from one of the eight Buddhist symbols. The shield symbolises protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the endless knot symbolises longevity, mysticism, never-ending wisdom and spiritual vigilance; the colour gold denotes wealth, prosperity, power, prestige and achievement and the colour blue denotes serenity, calmness, trust, spirituality, calmness, wisdom, freedom, openness, intelligence and loyalty.

AKAL UNIVERSITY Akal University in Talwandi Sabo, Bathinda, India was set up by Kalgidhar Society in the year 2015 under the Akal University Act, 2015 (Punjab Act No. 25 of 2015). The emblem of the university is a shield holding the motifs of an open book, book rest or khanda and the name of the university. Below the shield the name of the place of the university is written. TEERTHANKER MAHAVEER UNIVERSITY Teerthanker Mahaveer University (TMU), was established by an Act (No. 30) of 2008 of the Government of Uttar Pradesh in 2008. The emblem of the university has a motif of a pair of green flying birds motif supporting the acronym of the name and place of the university are placed in a circular orange vignette background. These are ensconced by a half white and half red border which bears the name of the university in English and Devanagari respectively. On a banner with orange tones, its motto in Sanskrit ‘सम्यक् दर्शन, सम्यक् ज्ञान, सम्यक् चारित्र' meaning ‘Right philosophy, Right knowledge, Right character’ is inscribed in black. The green flying bird symbols mean good luck, hope, joy, new beginnings, renewal and healing.

MANGALORE UNIVERSITY The emblem of Mangalore University (MU) depicts its geography, history and tradition through a number of motifs. In the centre of a circle the motifs of rising sun above mountains and waterbody and trees are  placed representing the geography of the locale. It is ensconced by a yellow circular border on which its name is inscribed in Kannada and English. The circular seal is crested by a colourful headgear or ‘kirita’ of the famous folk dance form ‘Yakshagana’ and supported on either side by coffee plant branches with leaves and fruits for which the city and the State of Karnataka are famous for. At the bottom of the insignia, on a blue banner the motto of the university in Kannada ‘ಜ್ಞಾನವೇ-ಬೆಳಕು’ meaning ‘Knowledge is Light’ is inscribed.
