The emblem of Sikkim Professional University (SPU) has a golden orchid, which is a symbol of the State of Sikkim which  represents elegance, refinement, innocence, grace and endurance. A motif of Teaching Buddha is placed over the orchid and all these are placed on a gold edged shield, which houses its acronym ‘SP’ and ‘University’. The name of the university and its motto ‘An Abode of Knowledge’ written in sans serif bold font are placed on its right. All of these are hosed in a blue rectangular panel. The shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the colour gold represents wealth, prosperity, power, prestige and achievement and the colour blue denotes serenity, calmness, trust, spirituality, calmness, wisdom, freedom, openness, intelligence and loyalty.
