The grey and orange circular emblem of Darjeeling Hills University (DHU) has the motif of Himalayas glowing in early morning sun supporting a line drawing of a flame of lamp in a circle. These are ensconced by a circular border with white outlines, on which the name of the university and its motto in Devanagari ‘उत्कर्षण अन्तर्वेशन नवोन्मेषण’ and ‘Excellence Inclusion Innovation’ are inscribed. The Himalayas represent the locale and the flame is an emblem of enlightenment, hope, life, truth and the regenerative power. The colour grey symbolises represents strength, longevity, unemotional, detached, balanced and impartial, power, influence, wisdom and intelligence.

RAJMATA VIJAYARAJE SCINDIA KRISHI VISHWA VIDYALAYA The Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Gwalior was established by Government of Madhya Pradesh on August 19, 2008 by bifurcating the JNKVV, Jabalpur. The green toned circular emblem of the university has a motif of a farmer tilling the soil using cattle and plough placed over an open book signifying the knowledge, wisdom and education of agriculture. Below this its motto in Sanskrit ‘कृषि मूलम् जगत् सर्वम्’ meaning ‘Agriculture is the Root of the World’ is written. All these are ensconced in two circular borders, of which one carries its name and place in English and the outer one carries its name and place in Devanagari supported by a pair of wheat ears. The ears of wheat signifies prosperity, food, wealth and nourishment and the colour green signifies agriculture, nature, growth, balance, harmony, environment, prosperity, vitality, prestige, wealth and being very down to earth.

The circular emblem in orange and green has a gear wheel housing a pair of laurels and circle containing a map of India and its year of establishment ensconced by its motto ‘Knowledge is Power’ on a green border. The motto of the college ‘கற்றனைத்தூறும் அறிவு’ (396, Thirukkural, Thiruvalluvar) meaning ‘Knowledge Grows As Much As One Learns’ is inscribed below the pictorial.
