The insignia of Haridev Joshi University of Journalism and Mass Communication (HJU) was designed by Vinay Jain. It has a sun supporting the acronym of the university and placed in a brown square. The sun denotes light and removes darkness and it reaches out like the arms of the media and communication bringing the light of information to the society. The brown or terracotta background implies being rooted and earthy. The sun is also a motif used in the architecture of Jaipur, where the university is located. The name of the university is written in Devanagari and English above and below the pictorial respectively.

The insignia of the institution has a innumerable concentric petalled lotus in a red circle encircled by its name and motto in Sanskrit ‘ज्ञान पंथ कृपान कै धारा’ meaning ‘Cult of Knowledge is Through the Blessings’ and is ensconced in a blue gear wheel turning clockwise.
