The circular seal of Deen Dayal Upadhyay Gorakhpur University (DDUGU) has the motifs of a red lotus on flowing water in the presence of rising orange sun in a yellow background. These are ensconced by a light blue circular border with black and red outlines, which bears the name of the university in Devanagari and English. The lotus denotes purity, enlightenment, rebirth, transformation, personal growth, resilience, overcoming obstacles and divine beauty; the flowing water denotes life, purification, transformation, change and renewal and the rising sun denotes life, energy, power, positivity, illumination, light and clarity.

INDIAN GRAPE PROCESSING BOARD Keeping the above in mind and to co-ordinate the efforts for promotion and development of the wine industry in India in close association with industry, producers and other stakeholders, the Union Cabinet in its meeting held on January 2, 2009 gave its approval for the establishment of the Indian Grape Processing Board (IGPB) under the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, registered as a society under the Societies Registration Act, 1860. The Board has its headquarters in Pune, Maharashtra that is close to the principal grape growing and processing areas in the country.
