The emblem of the COEP Technological University (COEPTU) has a shield which has been trisected and a motif is placed in each section. The motifs are a fort, a hand holding a hammer and an open book. The shield is surmounted by a banner with four folds which is inscribed with its motto  ‘Strength Truth Endurance Ethics Reverence’ and supported by another banner bearing the words ‘COEP Technological University’ and ‘Pune’. The shield symbolises protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the fort denotes the city of Pune; the hand holding hammer denotes engineering education and the open book symbolises knowledge, wisdom and education.

The name of the college surmounts the motifs and its year of establishment is written at the bottom. The college was originally established in 1905 as the Prince of Wales College to commemorate the visit of the Prince of Wales (later King George V) to Jammu.
