The emblem of Jananayak Chandrashekhar University (JCU) has a globe of the world with the rising sun supported by an open book and a pair of laurels. The globe is ensconced in a white circular border with red outlines, which is inscribed with its name in Devanagari and English. At the bottom of the seal, on a red banner its motto in Sanskrit ‘संगच्छध्वं संवदध्वं सं वो मनांसि जानताम्’ (10.181.2, Rigveda )meaning ‘Meet Together, Talk Together, Let Your Minds Think Alike’ is inscribed. The globe denotes education, knowledge, influence, timelessness, global unity and interconnectedness; the open book denotes education, learning, knowledge and wisdom; the rising sun denotes life, energy, power, positivity, illumination, light and clarity and the laurels denote ceremonies, victory, achievement, hard work and dedication.

The motto of the college in Sanskrit is ‘विद्यया विन्दते अमृतम्’ (Mantra 2.4, Kenopanishad), which translates to ‘Immortality Through Knowledge’. The Staff of Caduceus symbolises medicine and medical profession; the book symbolises the accumulation and dissemination of medical knowledge and the academic foundation of the institution; the torch with flame is an emblem of enlightenment, hope, life, truth and the regenerative power; and the laurels are symbols, which represent victory, honour and academic excellence.
