The emblem of Guru Kashi University (GKU) is a blue shield with white border housing the motifs of an open book supporting a 16-pointed star in yellow and green colours and three stars. The shield is supported by a pair of laurels on sides between which its acronym ‘GKU’ is placed. A white banner is placed on the shield at the bottom with its motto in Punjabi ‘ਇਹ ਹੈ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਹਮਾਰੀ ਕਾਸ਼ੀ’ meaning ‘It is Our Evident Seat of Learning’ inscribed on it. The shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the stars denote divinity, hope and guidance; the open book represents education, knowledge, learning and wisdom; the laurels denote ceremonies, victory, achievement, hard work and dedication; the colour blue signifies serenity, calmness, trust, spirituality, calmness, wisdom, freedom, openness, intelligence and loyalty and the colour yellow signifies happiness, energy, vitality, focus and creativity and the colour olive signifies peace, harmony, balance, stability and being grounded.
