NATIONAL LAW UNIVERSITY DELHI

The brown colour insignia of National Law University Delhi (NLUD) is a monogram created using its acronym ‘NLU’ with ‘N and ‘U’ forming the two panes of a balance and ‘L’ forming its pole, denoting balance, neutrality and fairness in law and legal education. It is surmounted by its motto in Sanskrit ‘न्यायस्तत्र प्रमाणं स्यात्’ (03.1.45, Arthashastra) meaning ‘There Shall Justice Prevail’ and supported by the name of its place.  The colour brown symbolises earthiness, simplicity, stability, humility, warmth, reliability, endurance, timelessness and tradition.
