Below this ‘University’ is written between two lines. The human motif symbolises the stakeholders of the university and the colour blue symbolises serenity, calmness, trust, spirituality, calmness, wisdom, freedom, openness, intelligence and loyalty.

Engineering education in BHU started in 1919 with the establishment of Banaras Engineering College (BENCO).
