The brown colour circular emblem of Delhi Technological University (DTU) has a torch with flame with its acronym inscribed on it; its nickname ‘Deltech University’ with the ‘T’ of Deltech forming a platform; a banner bearing its tagline and its motto in Sanskrit ‘विज्ञानवान प्रज्ञानवान भवतु’ meaning ‘Let the Scientist be Wise’ above. All these are ensconced by a circular border with a decorative outline, on which its name is written in Devanagari and English. The colour brown symbolises earthiness, simplicity, stability, humility, warmth, reliability, endurance, timelessness and tradition.

At the bottom, a banner inscribed with the motto of the college in Tamil ‘‘கற்றனைத் தூறும் அறிவு’ (Thiruvalluvar, 396, Thirukkural) meaning ‘Knowledge Grows As Much As One Learns’ is inscribed is placed on the seal. Athiyaman and Avvaiyar refer to history and heritage; the book, sun and the humans refer to education and educational achievement; the tree refers to nature, sustenance and growth; the computer refers to technology; and the dam refers to the local landmark.
