The emblem of Amity University Punjab (AMP) at Mohali, Punjab has a shield divided into yellow and dark blue sections. The dark blue portion is a left to right upward sweeping stroke, bearing the name of the university. The yellow portion has a torch, the flame of which is written using its acronym. The shield has blue borderlines. The name and place of the university is written on the right side of the pictorial in classic serif font. The dark blue with contemporary cues of technology, performance and advancement strikes a synergy with the golden yellow radiance of tradition, culture and values. The shield signifies protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery and the torch signifies purity and passion for knowledge.

MAULANA AZAD NATIONAL URDU UNIVERSITY Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) is a Central University established by an Act of Parliament in 1998. The logo of the university has two strokes of orange and green forming the shape of ‘U’ in tricolour and has a ‘Ashoka Chakra’ at its top. This is supported by an open book on which images of an atom and a burning candle are depicted. UNIVERSITY OF JAMMU The University of Jammu (UoJ) came into existence in 1969 through the Kashmir and Jammu Universities Act 1969 following bifurcation of the erstwhile University of Jammu and Kashmir. The circular emblem of the university has an open book supporting a lotus with a background of mountains and surmounted by atomic structure. These are ensconced by a yellow circular border which carries its motto in Sanskrit ‘तमसो मा ज्योतिर्गमय’ (Yajnavalkya,1.3.28, Pavamana Mantra, Brihadaranyaka Upanishad) meaning ‘From Darkness Lead me to Light’ on one side and its name in Kashmiri on the other side. The name of the university is written on A banner at the bottom. The open book denotes education, knowledge and wisdom; the lotus symbolises purity, enlightenment, rebirth, transformation, personal growth, resilience, overcoming obstacles and divine beauty; the mountains represent the Himalayan Mountains and the atomic structure denotes science and science education.
