The emblem of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Shekhawati University (PDUSU) is shaped like a sun with glowing rays with a circular border housing the name and place of the university in Devanagari and English and its year of establishment. WIthin this border a torch with flame supported by an open book is placed on the map of the State of Rajasthan. Below the seal, on a red banner its motto in Sanskrit ‘प्रज्वलितो ज्ञानमय प्रदीपः’ (Shloka 1, Shri Badarayan Suprabhatam) meaning ‘Burning like a well-filled Oil Lamp Enlightened with the Light of Knowledge’ is inscribed. The torch with flame is an emblem of enlightenment, hope, life, truth and the regenerative power; the open book symbolises education, learning, knowledge and wisdom; the sun symbolises life, energy, power, positivity, illumination, light and clarity; the colour yellow denotes happiness, energy, vitality, focus and creativity and the colour red denotes passion, power, strength, courage, determination, energy and celebration.

The central motifs of the winged Staff of Caduceus entwined by a pair of serpents crested with a flaming torch, supported by an open book and a pair of laurels replace the Lion Capital; and the name, place and motto of the college replace the name of the State. The motto of the college in Sanskrit is ‘विद्यया विन्दते अमृतम्’ (Mantra 2.4, Kenopanishad), which translates to ‘Immortality Through Knowledge’.
