CENTRAL AGRICULTURAL UNIVERSITY

The Central Agricultural University (CAU) was established under the Department of Agricultural Research and Education (DARE) on January 26, 1993 by the Central Agricultural University Act, 1992 (No.40 of 1992) of parliament with its headquarters at Imphal, Manipur. The emblem of this university has a triangle placed in a hexagon representing the States of Northeast and is populated with a cattle, a pineapple, a lotus supported by an open book, flowing water with a fish, a flask and a test tube with a plant growing within crested with a mountain and rising sun and supported by its year of establishment. All these elements are representatives of the Northeast and the domains within the scope of the university. The book and the lotus represent knowledge, wisdom and purity. All these are ensconced by a border circle, which carries its name in Devanagari and English. This emblem is supported by a pair of ripened paddy stems on either side. At the bottom, on a banner its motto in Sanskrit ‘अन्नात्भवन्ति भूतानि’ meaning ‘Food is Life’ is written.

DARSHAN UNIVERSITY The red and black emblem of Darshan University (DU) has an U-shaped shield housing the monogram of ‘DU’ and three stripes cut through its left top edge. Below the shield its motto in Sanskrit ‘योगः कर्मसु कौशलम्’ (Verse 50, Chapter 2, Bhagavad Gita) meaning ‘Yoga is Skill in Action’ is written. BURDWAN UNIVERSITY Burdwan University is a State University which was established on June 15, 1965. The circular emblem of this university has a gear wheel with sixteen teeth holding the motif of a decorative column standing on a lotus pedestal and supported on either side by scroll designs. These are ensconced by a border on which the name of the university is inscribed in Devanagari and Bengali. The gear wheel symbolises interconnectedness; efficiency and precision; progress and advancement; synchronisation, timing, order and structure and the decorated column signifies dharma and being virtuous.

GURUGRAM UNIVERSITY The emblem of Gurugram University (GU) has a yellow shield supported by a pair of laurels, crested by a flame and by a red banner below. The shield houses the motifs of rising sun, a pair of twigs,an open book, a globe, a human brain, a banyan tree, robot, WiFi symbol, picture of persons holding a trophy, its name and place and a bow and arrow.
