Central University of South Bihar (CUSB), Gaya, India, is one among fifty four such universities of the Central Government. It was established as Central University of Bihar (CUB) and the name since changed by the Central Universities (Amendment) Act, 2014 to Central University of South Bihar (CUSB). The Executive Council of the Central University of Bihar passed a resolution and accepted the logo of the university on November 20, 2010. The new logo of the university came into existence in August, 2018. The logo of the University is an adaptation of a peepal tree symbolising the rich culture of Bihar. It is a visual identity of the university representing education, wisdom and enlightenment. Its motto is written on a banner at the bottom of the emblem on a banner in Sanskrit ‘ज्ञान सेवा विमुक्तये’ meaning ‘Knowledge in the Service for Liberation’
