RASHTROTTHANA PARISHAT

Rashtrotthana Parishat is a not for profit social service voluntary organisation. It has its headquarters at Kempegowda Nagar, Bangalore, India. It is established in the year 1965. Its emblem has a map of India lit with a traditional lamp spreading light and crested by a gopuram, which symbolise the reverence to the nation and treating it as God. It is supported by its motto in Sanskrit ‘राष्ट्रदेवो भव’ meaning ‘Nation is God’ and a book meaning knowledge and wisdom. The emblem is put on a pedestal which bears its name ‘Rashtrotthana Parshad’ in Kannada.

It is named after the eponymous queen Rani Channamma of Kittur, the first woman freedom fighter of India. The emblem of the university has an orange coloured open book supporting a flame of light and holding a black silhouette image of Rani Channamma with a rising sun a s backdrop.  The emblem is crested by a its name written in Kannada and at the bottom of the emblem its motto in Sanskrit ‘विद्वान् सर्वत्र पूज्यते’ meaning ‘The Learned are Worshipped Everywhere’ is written.
