The history of Tamilnad Mercantile Bank Ltd. (TMB) originally registered on May 11, 1921, as Nadar Bank Limited, under the Indian Companies Act, 1913. It has its headquarters in Thoothukudi, Tamilnadu, India. It changed its name to Tamilnad Mercantile Bank in November 1962 to widen its appeal beyond the Nadar community.
