The orange circular seal of Baselios Mathews Ii College of Engineering (BMCE) features a shield housing the motifs of an open book, a christian religious symbol, a structure of an atom supporting a flame. The shield is surmounted by a banner inscribed with the tagline of the college ‘My Lord and My God’. This assemblage is ensconced by a circular border inscribed with the name and place of the college. The book refers to learning, education, knowledge and wisdom; the religious symbol refers to divine blessings, guidance and benevolence; the atom refers to science and engineering; the flame is an emblem of enlightenment, hope, life, truth and the regenerative power; and the shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery.

COTTON UNIVERSITY Cotton University (CU) was formerly known as Cotton College, the institute was established in 1901 by Sir Henry Stedman Cotton, the Chief Commissioner of the erstwhile British province of Assam. It became a constituent college of Gauhati University in 1948. In 2011 the Cotton College State University was established vide an Act of the Government of Assam, with the college as a constituent. Cotton University came into being in 2017 through The Cotton University Act, 2017 that enabled the unification of Cotton College State University and Cotton College. PALLAVA DYNASTY - BULL The Pallava Dynasty existed from 275 CE to 897 CE, ruling a significant portion of the Deccan, also known as Thondaimandalam. The dynasty rose to prominence after the downfall of the Satavahana dynasty, with whom they had formerly served as feudatories. The Pallavas became a major South Indian power during the reign of Mahendravarman I(600–630 CE) and Narasimhavarman I (630–668 CE), dominating for about 600 years, until the end of the 9th century. Kancheepuram served as the capital of the Pallava kingdom.  They developed the Pallava script, from which, Grantha ultimately took form. This script eventually gave rise to several other Southeast Asian scripts such Khmer. The Chinese traveller Xuanzang visited Kanchipuram during Pallava rule and extolled their benign rule.
