SAM HIGGINBOTTOM INSTITUTE OF AGRICULTURE, TECHNOLOGY AND SCIENCES |
The Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology and Sciences (SHUATS) is established under Uttar Pradesh Act No. 35 of 2016. SHUATS is established and administered by the Ecumenical Minority Christian Society namely the Sam Higginbottom Educational and Charitable Society. It was earlier known as Allahabad Agricultural Institute. The emblem of the university has a map of India hosting a crop; a power till and its motto ‘Serve the Land Feed the Hungry’ in a circle surrounded by a yellow border carrying the name of the university and place. This circular motif is placed above a cross with a red outline. This is supported by a pair of laurels of leaves, flowers and fruits and a banner bearing the year of its establishment. The laurels are symbols of victory and achievement. They are often used in awards ceremonies and they are also a popular choice for graduation ceremonies and are a reminder of the hard work and dedication that it takes to achieve success.
