RK University (RKU) is a private university in Rajkot, Gujarat created on October 12, 2011. Founded in the year 2001, Shri Shamjibhai Harjibhai Talavia Charitable Trust (SHTCT) is the founder of RK University. The emblem of the university is a façade of a traditional entrance of a building with two grey colour pillars supporting a red arch or arc, below which its name is written in black. The two pillars of the grey colour façade symbolises the bridge to heaven from earth and pillar means strength, security of foundation and trustworthiness. Two pillared facades can convey goods and truths. The red colour arc symbolises the skies of Olympus and the heavenly Gods such as Zeus and Jupiter. The arch serves as a reminder of a universal truth that there is always another way, an open door. The name of the university is written below the façade. The colour red symbolises passion, power, strength, courage, determination, energy and celebration and the colour grey symbolises strength, longevity, unemotional, detached, balanced and impartial, power, influence, wisdom and intelligence.
