Kalasalingam Academy of Research and Higher Education (KARE) (Deemed to be University) formerly Arulmigu Kalasalingam College of Engineering was established in 1984 by Kalvivallal T. Kalasalingam under the trust Kalasalingam and Anandam Ammal Charities. It obtained the deemed to be university status in 2006. The emblem of the university has an open book supporting a traditional lamp burning brightly inside a blue gear wheel which bears the name of the university. Below this on a banner, its motto in Tamil ‘அறிவு அற்றம் காக்கும் கருவி’ meaning ‘Intelligence is the Tool to Protect Ignorance’ is written. The open book symbolises education, knowledge and wisdom; the traditional lamp signifies light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity; the gear wheel represents interconnectedness; efficiency and precision; progress and advancement; synchronisation and timing and order and structure  and the colour blue signifies serenity, calmness, trust, spirituality, calmness, wisdom, freedom, openness, intelligence and loyalty.

DIRECTORATE GENERAL FIRE SERVICES The circular emblem of Directorate General Fire Services has a red shield holding flames of fire housed in a blue circle. It is ensconced by a white border, which carries its motto in Sanskrit ‘त्राणाय सेवयामहे’ and ‘We Serve to Save’. It is surrounded by a glowing sun or fire over which the fourth or outer circle sits referring to extinguishing fire. These are placed inside four concentric circles with blue outlines. UTTARANCHAL UNIVERSITY Uttaranchal University has come a long way since its inception in 2013 providing world class multidisciplinary education. The university's mission is to inculcate the essence of the Sanskrit Shloka ‘पदं हि सर्वत्र गुणैर्निधीयते’ meaning ‘Good Qualities Put their Footprints Everywhere’. The logo of the university has a blue and green abstract pictorial of ‘U’ and on its right a wordmark of its name in capitals thin serif letters with smooth transition of strokes. The counter of the ‘U’ is filled blue and a stroke of blue and green flows across diagonally from left to right top. This is further cut out by another ‘U’ at the top right corner.
