Kalasalingam Academy of Research and Higher Education (KARE) (Deemed to be University) formerly Arulmigu Kalasalingam College of Engineering was established in 1984 by Kalvivallal T. Kalasalingam under the trust Kalasalingam and Anandam Ammal Charities. It obtained the deemed to be university status in 2006. The emblem of the university has an open book supporting a traditional lamp burning brightly inside a blue gear wheel which bears the name of the university. Below this on a banner, its motto in Tamil ‘அறிவு அற்றம் காக்கும் கருவி’ meaning ‘Intelligence is the Tool to Protect Ignorance’ is written. The open book symbolises education, knowledge and wisdom; the traditional lamp signifies light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity; the gear wheel represents interconnectedness; efficiency and precision; progress and advancement; synchronisation and timing and order and structure  and the colour blue signifies serenity, calmness, trust, spirituality, calmness, wisdom, freedom, openness, intelligence and loyalty.

NATIONAL INSTITUTE FOR SMART GOVERNMENT National Institute for Smart Government (NISG) was set up as a non-profit company setup in Public-Private-Partnership (PPP) in 2002 with 51% equity contributed by the private sector and 49% by the public sector under the recommendations of The National Taskforce on Information Technology and Software Development. The NISG was registered as a Section 25 company in May 2002 with its headquarters at Hyderabad. The vision of NISG is to establish itself as a centre of excellence in e-Governance to facilitate application of public and private resources to e-Governance in the areas of: strategic planning, project consulting, capacity building, and research and innovation. The NISG logo has a unique typeface wherein the letter ‘N’ has been shown as a bridge which depicts the connection between public and private sector.

SANT BABA BHAG SINGH UNIVERSITY The emblem of Sant Baba Bhag Singh University (SBBSU) in orange and blue has a Khanda forming the background for orange rising sun supported by an open book and a pair of laurels on sides surmounted by its acronym. KARNATAKA POLICE Police in Karnataka were called by various names in different regions. After initiation of policing, they were initially called Thoti, Talwar, Umbalidhar, Kattubidi, Neeraganti etc. The police primarily with policing used to do other jobs entrusted to them. Mysore State was the predecessor to Karnataka State, which was created on November 1, 1965. Sri. L. Rickets was appointed as first Inspector General of Police.
