SONA DEVI UNIVERSITY 

The emblem of Sona Devi University (SDU) features the initials of the university ‘SDU’  supported by the name of the place and the State. The name of the university surmounts the initials and the motto of the university in Sanskrit ‘विद्या लभते पुरुषार्थचतुष्टयम्’ meaning ‘Through Knowledge, One Attains the Four Goals of Human Life (Dharma, Artha, Kama, and Moksha)’ supports it. A pair of torches with flames are placed on either side. These are ensconced by a red and blue decorative circular border. The torch with flames is an emblem of enlightenment, hope, life, truth and the regenerative power.

UTTARANCHAL UNIVERSITY Uttaranchal University has come a long way since its inception in 2013 providing world class multidisciplinary education. The university's mission is to inculcate the essence of the Sanskrit Shloka ‘पदं हि सर्वत्र गुणैर्निधीयते’ meaning ‘Good Qualities Put their Footprints Everywhere’. The logo of the university has a blue and green abstract pictorial of ‘U’ and on its right a wordmark of its name in capitals thin serif letters with smooth transition of strokes. The counter of the ‘U’ is filled blue and a stroke of blue and green flows across diagonally from left to right top. This is further cut out by another ‘U’ at the top right corner. The colour blue represents serenity, calmness, trust, spirituality, calmness, wisdom, freedom, openness, intelligence and loyalty and the colour green denotes life, production, fertility, agriculture, environment and nature. The logo is modern, trendy and attractive.
