The gearwheel symbolises technology, engineering, interconnectedness, efficiency, precision, progress, advancement, synchronisation, timing, order and structure; the torch represents enlightenment, the pursuit of truth and the driving light of education banishing ignorance; the book denotes knowledge, education, learning and wisdom; and the other motifs refer to subject disciplines of science, engineering and technology.

UTTARANCHAL UNIVERSITY Uttaranchal University has come a long way since its inception in 2013 providing world class multidisciplinary education. The university's mission is to inculcate the essence of the Sanskrit Shloka ‘पदं हि सर्वत्र गुणैर्निधीयते’ meaning ‘Good Qualities Put their Footprints Everywhere’. The logo of the university has a blue and green abstract pictorial of ‘U’ and on its right a wordmark of its name in capitals thin serif letters with smooth transition of strokes.
