The emblem of Gyansagar College of Engineering (GSCE) combines traditional Indian educational philosophy with modern technical imagery. It features the motifs of a gearwheel, a multi-spoke wheel, a compass rose or starburst, an openbook and its motto in Sanskrit ‘न हि ज्ञानेन सदृशं पवित्रमिह विद्यते’ (Shloka 38, Chapter 4, Srimad Bhagavad Gita) meaning ‘In this World there Exists No Purifier Comparable to Knowledge’. The book represents the fountain of academic knowledge, literacy and continuous learning; and the orange gearwheel surrounding the book represents engineering, technology and industrial progress. It signifies how academic foundation transforms into practical, technical applications. The green and yellow steering wheel structure evokes a steering wheel, symbolising righteousness, dynamic growth and guiding students in the right direction. The 8-pointed green star radiating outwards represents a compass pointing in all directions, symbolising global opportunities, reach and the holistic development of students to face the world.

SAMBALPUR UNIVERSITY The Sambalpur University Act was passed by the Odisha Legislature on December 10, 1966 and the University started functioning from January 1, 1967. The university was inaugurated on January 4, 1967. In 1973 the University was shifted to the present campus named Jyoti Vihar at Burla. The emblem of the university has the motifs of gear wheels, chimney and electric transmission tower representing industry; plough representing agriculture; deer representing the local wildlife; an open book denoting knowledge and wisdom; a torch symbolising light, truth and power; the Wheel of Konark symbolising Odisha’s culture and history and river symbolising Mahanadi. All these are ensconced by a circular border and along the border the name of the university is written. The motto of the university in Sanskrit ‘विद्यया विन्दतेऽमृतम्’ (Verse 4 II, Kena Upanishad) meaning ‘By Self-knowledge Immortality is Attained’ is written at the bottom of the emblem.

WESTERN AIR COMMAND The origin of the Western Air Command can be traced back to the nascent years of independent India, when the various formations of the Air Force were organised into two groups. On July 22, 1949 the No 1 Operational Group was re-designated as the Operational Command. The Command assumed its present name of Headquarters Western Air Command on June 10, 1963. Headquarters Western Air Command, located at Subroto Park, New Delhi, has over 200 bases placed under its command and has been involved in all major operations in India since independence. Due to its geographical location the Command has always been the hub-centre of all operational activities during any operation. Its insignia has a ‘trishul’ and an eagle in the centre of a circle which is topped by India’s national emblem. Its motto in Sanskrit ‘Akashmasthseema’ in golden border is placed at the bottom.

UTTARAKHAND TOURISM DEVELOPMENT BOARD Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board (UTDB) is the highest body to advise the Government on all matters relating to tourism in the State. The logo of the Board is based on Devanagari letter ‘उ’ drawn using four swooshes, in which the cyan represents the mountains, blue represents the rivers, red represents the temples of the land and green represents the forests. The logo, as a composite, looks bright, vibrant and enthusiastic, thereby inviting tourists to this State. Below this the name of the State is written. The emblem of the university symbolises various systems of medicine viz., medical, dental, Indian medicine, homoeopathy and allied health sciences. An abstract depiction of the holy river Prachi supports the tilak. The motifs are ensconced by a circular border inscribed with the name of the college. The seal is placed on a decorated platform. The motto of the college in Sanskrit ‘तमसो मा ज्योतिर्गमय’ (Yajnavalkya, 1.3.28, Pavamana Mantra, Brihadaranyaka Upanishad) meaning ‘From Darkness Lead Me to Light’ is written is inscribed on the front side of the platform. Below this, the name of the place of college is written. The tilak symbolises humble surrender at the Lord's feet, spiritual purity, and divine protection from negative influences; the flame symbolises transformation, passion, purification, and divine knowledge; and the river refers to the nativity of the college.

The academic programme of IIT Guwahati commenced in 1995. The motto of IIt Guwahati is ‘ज्ञान ही शक्ति है’ which means ‘Knowledge Is Power’. The emblem of IITG in Yellow ochre, red and blue  was designed by Yeshwant Chaudhary in 1994, based on the concept of sound connection between the mind, body and soul.
