The emblem of SKITM Shivaji Rao kadam Institute of Technology (SKITM Indore) features a shield with yellow, red, green and blue panels with a map of India in the centre. The shield has a black border with yellow nails. The coloured panels of the shield are inscribed with the ‘Bowl of Hygieia’, an open book with a hand writing with a quill pen, a pair of gears, and a globe with a transmission tower. The shield is crested by a soaring eagle and supported by a yellow banner inscribed with the motto of the college ‘विद्यैव सर्वधनम्’ meaning ‘Knowledge Itself is the Greatest Wealth’. The name of the college is written at the bottom. The shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the Bowl of Hygieia represents the pharmaceutical sciences and healthcare education offered at the institute; the book symbolises knowledge, education, learning and wisdom; the gearwheels and the tower with globe refer to the different subject disciplines of engineering. The soaring eagle (Garuda or Falcon) represents vision, strength, high aspirations, and the pursuit of excellence.

WESTERN AIR COMMAND The origin of the Western Air Command can be traced back to the nascent years of independent India, when the various formations of the Air Force were organised into two groups. On July 22, 1949 the No 1 Operational Group was re-designated as the Operational Command. The Command assumed its present name of Headquarters Western Air Command on June 10, 1963. SAMBALPUR UNIVERSITY The Sambalpur University Act was passed by the Odisha Legislature on December 10, 1966 and the University started functioning from January 1, 1967. The university was inaugurated on January 4, 1967. In 1973 the University was shifted to the present campus named Jyoti Vihar at Burla. The emblem of the university has the motifs of gear wheels, chimney and electric transmission tower representing industry; plough representing agriculture; deer representing the local wildlife; an open book denoting knowledge and wisdom; a torch symbolising light, truth and power; the Wheel of Konark symbolising Odisha’s culture and history and river symbolising Mahanadi. All these are ensconced by a circular border and along the border the name of the university is written. The motto of the university in Sanskrit ‘विद्यया विन्दतेऽमृतम्’ (Verse 4 II, Kena Upanishad) meaning ‘By Self-knowledge Immortality is Attained’ is written at the bottom of the emblem.
