The orange and brown emblem of Priyadarshini Bhagwati College of Engineering (PBCE) features the motifs of a rising sun supported by an open book and handshake and the initials of the college’s managing Trust ‘LTJSS’ ensconced by circular border inscribed with the name of place of the college. The sun  represents life, energy, power, positivity, illumination, light and clarity; the book refers to education, knowledge, learning and wisdom; and the handshake refers to goodwill, agreement, or farewell, representing trust, respect, and equality.

SAMBALPUR UNIVERSITY The Sambalpur University Act was passed by the Odisha Legislature on December 10, 1966 and the University started functioning from January 1, 1967. The university was inaugurated on January 4, 1967. In 1973 the University was shifted to the present campus named Jyoti Vihar at Burla. The emblem of the university has the motifs of gear wheels, chimney and electric transmission tower representing industry; plough representing agriculture; deer representing the local wildlife; an open book denoting knowledge and wisdom; a torch symbolising light, truth and power; the Wheel of Konark symbolising Odisha’s culture and history and river symbolising Mahanadi. All these are ensconced by a circular border and along the border the name of the university is written. The motto of the university in Sanskrit ‘विद्यया विन्दतेऽमृतम्’ (Verse 4 II, Kena Upanishad) meaning ‘By Self-knowledge Immortality is Attained’ is written at the bottom of the emblem.
