SOBAN SINGH JEENA UNIVERSITY

Soban Singh Jeena University (SSJU), Almora, a residential cum affiliating University, came into existence on August 14, 2020. The emblem of the university has three layers of concentric circles of orange, light orange and a circle consists of motifs of Mount Kailas with ‘ॐ’ inscribed on; a green valley; typical Buddhist monastery; a stupa; its acronym ‘SSJU’ and an open book supporting all. All these are supported by a magenta coloured banner which bears its year of formation. The middle circle bears its motto in Sanskrit ‘विद्याया विन्दतेअम्रुतम्’ meaning ‘Learning Bestows the Nectar of Life’. The motifs represent the geographical features of its location and the open book symbolises knowledge and wisdom.
