UCO BANK

The idea of a truly Indian bank was first conceived of by Mr. G.D Birla, after the historic ‘Quit India’ movement in 1942. Soon it became a reality and on January 6, 1943, The United Commercial Bank Ltd. was born with its Registered and Head Office at Kolkata. The bank was nationalised by the Government of India on July 19, 1969. In 1985 the name of the bank changed to UCO Bank. The bright blue emblem of UCO Bank has a square with thick border and sheared corners transforming into folded hands securing a solid circle. The square depicts a safe and secure nature of operations of the bank; the folded hands depict ‘Namaste’ an Indian welcome sign and securing the solid circle, which denotes the customer, whose money the bank holds.
