Inspired by the ideals of Sri Aurobindo and the Mother, Sri Aurobindo University (SAU) is promoted by Sri Aurobindo Institute of Medical Sciences (SAIMS) Society and Bhandari Group of Hospitals and Institutions (BGHI). Sri Aurobindo Institute of Medical Sciences (SAIMS) Society was started Dr. Vinod Bhandari & his wife Dr. Manjushree Bhandari in 2003. The emblem of the university is a revolving globe with longitude and latitudinal line on a cyan coloured square with a white swoosh. The globe denotes education, knowledge, influence, timelessness, global unity and interconnectedness. The emblem depicts the globe in a dynamic state, which constantly evolves and revolves in a vibrant manner. Cyan is a relaxing and inspiring colour that evokes images of crystal waters and is normally associated with liveliness, tranquillity, youth and energy. It is made of green and blue and represents rationality and cleanliness. Below the pictorial its name is written and at the bottom its motto ‘Vision with Action’ is written.

COTTON UNIVERSITY Cotton University (CU) was formerly known as Cotton College, the institute was established in 1901 by Sir Henry Stedman Cotton, the Chief Commissioner of the erstwhile British province of Assam. It became a constituent college of Gauhati University in 1948. In 2011 the Cotton College State University was established vide an Act of the Government of Assam, with the college as a constituent. Cotton University came into being in 2017 through The Cotton University Act, 2017 that enabled the unification of Cotton College State University and Cotton College. The official emblem of the university dates back to 1933. It was designed by Mohendra Nath Deka Phukan, an alumni of the university. This emblem is a shield which is a symbol of protection of Assam. PALLAVA DYNASTY - BULL The Pallava Dynasty existed from 275 CE to 897 CE, ruling a significant portion of the Deccan, also known as Thondaimandalam. The dynasty rose to prominence after the downfall of the Satavahana dynasty, with whom they had formerly served as feudatories. The Pallavas became a major South Indian power during the reign of Mahendravarman I(600–630 CE) and Narasimhavarman I (630–668 CE), dominating for about 600 years, until the end of the 9th century. Kancheepuram served as the capital of the Pallava kingdom.  They developed the Pallava script, from which, Grantha ultimately took form. This script eventually gave rise to several other Southeast Asian scripts such Khmer. The Chinese traveller Xuanzang visited Kanchipuram during Pallava rule and extolled their benign rule.
