Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University (SGGSWU), Fatehgarh Sahib, a project undertaken by the SGPC is a missionary, charitable and humanitarian institution, seeks to impart inclusive education to learners from all creeds, castes and religions. The blue colour emblem of the university ha the motif of tower holding a globe, supported by a pair of green laurels, crested by its motto in ‘ਗਿਆਨ ਅੰਜਨੁ ਗੁਰਿ ਦੀਆ’ meaning ‘The Guru has Given the Healing Ointment of Spiritual Wisdom’ and statement ‘The Lord Destroys the Collyrium of Enlightenment’ at the bottom. It is ensconced by a blue circular border carrying its name in Punjabi and English. Below this on a banner the name of the place is written and at the bottom ‘SGGSWU’ is written. The globe on the tower represents education, knowledge, influence, timelessness, global unity and interconnectedness and the laurels signify are symbols of victory and achievement. They are often used in awards ceremonies and they are also a popular choice for graduation ceremonies and are a reminder of the hard work and dedication that it takes to achieve success.
